Stunning performance! I just played this for my seven-year-old and four-year-old, and they clapped enthusiastically at the end. They wished you all could hear their applause, so I needed to leave this comment. Thank you so much for posting this.

When I listen to Tchaikovsky I feel the full depth of the russian soul.
God, it's so brilliant and so beautiful, I don't understand how a person could come up with such beauty. My favorite piece.

Tchaikovsky was the complete genuis in an incomplete world. Even his fire seemingly proved not great enough in this cold world. But we do have his music. Each time it is played we may gather around it and be kept live by its beauty. Is that not a cheerful idea? I am so grateful for his music.

The peak of the European culture is undoubtedly the Classical music. This is just breathtaking. So mesmerizing, beautiful and sad, full of sorrow and longing for something that may never come back...just my interpretation.
Regardless, greetings from a Hungarian to everyone who's in love with culture.

Marvelous performance of a fabulous piece of music. Some people think that conductors make things more complicated, but as a veteran orchestra musician I can tell you that there are times when you really do need a conductor, particularly in cases of rubato, tempo changes, etc. That the NCO can play this well without a conductor speaks volumes of their level of musicianship. Kudos as well to the sound engineer; because there's a beautiful ambience to this recording.

As regard of my humble ears, l appreciate Serenade for strings is top masterpiece among all of Tchaikovsky.
It is dreamy or sometimes it is majestic, these affections always catch me perfectly.

Yes they move, I would expect nothing less from musicians who play with so much passion and commitment. Beautiful rendition of this classic piece.

Love this composer, this piece, this ensemble. What a glorious combination. One of the few times I've seen the NCO seated and using (discreetly) scores. No matter, they still dance! Many great memories of playing this work myself. The seconds are super-satisfyingly solid in the first mvt; the violas **everywhere**; and the balance is exquisite. Wonderful video, grateful it has been shared here with us.
