Thank you, Wally! This information is really important. My husband keeps going to meetings (has been for over a year) It is freaking me out. I'm a therapist, and think he is flirting with joining a cult. We've been married for 29 years and this is really bothering me. He was raised in the cult, but never got baptized (because he was too smart to do that as a teenager). He has had to deal with physical illnesses now, so I'm thinking he is more vulnerable. Please keep up your excellent work! It helps!

Back in the late 90's I became friends with an elder. Over time he opened up about how exhausting being an elder was, so much wasted time especially on low IQ's. No matter how much time spent he said it was always time wasted. One day he was so upset that every other Thursday they were begging for money in one way or another. Well he finally gave up and after 35 years as an elder just walked out. I came back in the early 90's and 1914 was in play. I remember leaving for good and didn't realize 80 years and come and gone. Now 1914 is yet again one more failed prediction. So much for God's "holy spirit".

I’ve been out for years and it makes me sad my very Uber PIMI aunt who has been on every form of state assistance and hasn’t talked to me in years will be giving what very little she has to this Org. It’s bad enough they’ve robbed her of her dignity but now she’s 80, never been married or worked full time and live in a hole but she will defend and financially support funding their CSA payouts over her own family.

I remember visiting a meeting in 2019 and was shocked that at the end of the talk the elder giving the talk started talking about giving a donation and why they should . almost guilt tripping them, . I told my mom who was a JW and she denied this she hadn’t come with me but say JWs don’t ask for donations ever!!! I was like wow smh

I’ve been out for 7 years but I remember participating in a resolution where elders announced how much our congregation was expected to send out and how much it would be per publisher. Everyone raised their hands agreeing with this decision.
