Boissevain, Virginia is an old coal town deep in the Appalachia. It was once a thriving coal mining area, now turned into severe decline. Back in 1932 a mine explosion took the lives of 38 men, and since then it has yet to recover. A haunting reminder of what used to be sits ahead. Let's take a drive and check it out.

Glad to see you say population has increased in last 4 years - there is hope. Cheap property in these little towns could be a great start for someone. There were some nice homes.

@3:21 time stamp you can see one of the famous Bernard Coffindaffer (3) crosses(gold center cross flaked by two outer light blue ones) against the hillside of the Boissevain Baptist Church. I always get an eerie feeling when i see those cross clusters all over the Eastern US because his movement was very unique and special. A reminder of the strong West Virginia Pastor who started that crusade and obviously this being Coal Country, was a primary spot for many. Great video.

What a nice little town. Yes, there are some buildings that need to be torn down and some could be rehabbed, but it's such a beautiful location. They must be doing something positive to have the population increase. This was a great tour and as always I appreciate the statistics 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻.

I like these holler videos much better than the hood ones. I hope you make some videos of the deviation from the hurricane. Whole towns are gone!!! I- 40 is Shut down indefinitely!!!
