Very happy to have received this message today. I have a talent for art, and writing. I’ve produce several rather nice works of art, for which I was paid, but I’ve been “stuck” ever since I had COVID 5 years ago; I cannot seem to finish anything I start. I also have a fictional story in my head, that I “write, and re-write” over and over, but cannot dedicatedly “put pen to paper” as they say.
I am resolving today to WORK, for the end goal, and if it takes countless “mess ups”, to get to a finished product, so be it! I will have something to show by the end of each day, that I am working through it! Thank you so much for delivering a message that I needed so badly to hear!

The safe option is no longer the safe option. We need to take risks and then trust God.

This is not a message is nothing to do with the prosperity gospel, but prosperity in the biblical way!

Most underrated message of the year!

The difficulty with all of this is that we don't always know what it is that God wants us to do. Just because we have a "dream" doesn't mean it's something God wants us to do. Or maybe it's not what God wants us to do right now. I tried a huge life change more than 10 years ago, moving out of a bad situation. The decision came only after years of prayer and thought and even Christian counseling. I tried my best, hanging on for almost 2 years because I thought it's what God had wanted me to do. I failed, utterly and completely. In the end, I had no other option but to go back to where I was before. I am now right back where I started, only in worse shape than before. I have no more hope of ever getting out of this situation.

this sermon hits hard.

Jeff, how do we reconcile the principle of working/ planning for the future with Christ's commands of "do not be anxious" or "worry about tomorrow" (paraphrase) from Matthew 6? I find it hard in reformed circles to see where the balance lies. I know being lazy and unprepared is sinful. but so is overthinking the future and not trusting God right now. Any thoughts?

Hey Jeff, I’m starting to think my list might be a tad unrealistic:

Become President of the USA.
Buy YouTube and rename it 'MeTube.'
Own the entire internet. (Yes, all of it.)

Might need to scale back a bit, huh?
