Plans are in the works to open a permanent homeless shelter in Pueblo and if all goes well it could be up and running just in time for winter.

Pueblo City Councilman Mark Aliff told News 5 on Monday that hopefully the location of the shelter will be revealed within the next 10 days. An appraisal of the property has been ordered, but negotiations still need to happen.

This guy is a joke... no neighbors petitioned, I live across to the old mission building and personally seen the stuff going on.... the people leading it didn’t do anything to keep the place in control.... the stealing, property damage and drug use was out of control.... the people would use the side of the building for a it was nice and peaceful after they left until this lie of a story was shown and now we are getting major property damage by disgruntled homeless, the house next to the mission receives the most harassment. The guy just moved in and had nothing to do with this situation just had a homeless junkie jump on his car and smash in the top, the hood and trunk, basically totaled his the people they did have at the mission were mostly junkies with the exception to a couple good people trying to get help... the junkies would literally take over.... nothing but problems and the people in the neighborhood tried to be ok with it. We all were fed up and for very good reason but no petition was made, the lawyer that has a practice on the block was concerned and was willing to do what was needed if so.... how could you destabilize a neighborhood and bring all the stress and drama then blame the neighbors or make it out to sound like we just threw them out?? We lived with the bullshit everyday and now get to feel the back lash of the mentally unstable homeless people vandalizing our neighborhood because of this bullshit lie and other news stories that directly blame the neighbors.... let me drop these people off at your house council asshole mark!! I will be at the next council meeting to give you a peace of my mind!!
