“Just some minor mending” Quentin’s whole story he wanted to be the protagonist. He wanted to be a hero. To belong. Even up to the end, nobody knew what his discipline was, giving him that air of mystery, that it COULD be something special or amazing. But it’s not. He’s not high king. He’s not the main character, not really, and he realizes this just before his death. That he’s just Quentin. His discipline is small and seemingly unimportant. He was never meant for the role he always wanted. But that’s the beauty of Quentin cold water. He’s fucked up, he’s dysfunctional, and he’ll never be the hero. So he tries doubly as hard as everyone else. He makes himself important. He makes his own destiny. He turns something as insignificant as “minor mending”, something for basic beginner wizards, into one of the most important and influential spells ever cast in the show, saving everyone in the process. Quentin’s story is the ultimate “I know I’m not the hero but that hasn’t stopped me yet” story. His character development is unmatched, and his story in the show is one of the most beautiful, when complete, character arcs out of anything I’ve ever seen. Because in the end, he was the hero. RIP Quentin bruh, never related more to a character in anything, ever.

I will forever cry when this song plays because of the emotion behind Quentin’s death scene (the slow-mo just makes it all the more heart wrenching), and just The Magicians in general which is an absolutely FANTASTIC series!!! (and it may just take the place of my favorite series!! the actors and actresses seriously deserve ALL OF THE AWARDS!!!).
