Blue blood bias is all it is. They talk more about brand, reigon, conference, and recruiting classes than they do about actual football.

The constant trends are the following:

1. loss to a blueblood in a down year > loss to an average program in a good year.
2. Average programs with undefeated records are fraudulent if they lose.
3. Losing close on the road against any SEC team no matter the record, is the best loss you can have.

This is how the committee operates. Keep this in mind and they'll never surprise you.

Dude, Ohio state literally beat top 5 ranked Penn st and top 5 ranked Indiana… Indiana has no quality wins, so you already don’t play anybody, and you lose to the only ranked opponent you play? honestly they should’ve been knocked out of the playoffs altogether !with that awful cupcake schedule man.. so yeah OU got 2 top 5 wins and lose yeah I’d drop them 4 spots after that lost. Indiana lose the only meaningful game? Hell I would’ve dropped them 9 spots after that… and Roll Tide

Miami blew a 21 point lead to an unranked team on National television less than a week ago. The only reason Syracuse is ranked #22 right now is because they upset the #6 team in the country. Syracuse was never ranked this year until AFTER the Miami game.

If you have three losses, you don't deserve a spot in the playoff. It should be that simple. But, I guess it's more about brands than actual records or actual games being played.
