This scene destroyed me, I lost my little brother a couple years before this movie and hearing Billy scream into the sewer and to hear Georgie cry for him to help him.. it broke me and I was not okay for days after. There is nothing I wouldn’t do to get my brother back.

I feel like what makes this scene especially sad is that Bill is so desperate to know the reason that he’s getting personal and pouring out his emotions to a monster that has no remorse or humanity, like he doesn’t know what else to do.

I think this hits home especially if you have a younger sibling. When I first got into IT, I was 13 and my brother was Georgie’s age, 6, so I really really sympathized with Bill and out myself in his shoes and it always got me teary eyed.

James Mcavoy was great in this scene! Very good acting from Jaden too.

Stephen King is a master of childhood trauma based horror stories. In this scene, Billy revisits his old house and area where the incident occurred. In the plot, Georgie dies because IT took him and dragged him into the sewer. But the realistic reference is that Georgie died due to getting hit by a car. Billy would grow up believing that his negligence in taking care of his younger brother ultimately caused Georgie's death. Billy develops two conflicting inner voices. One voice in his mind saying, "it's not your fault" while the other saying, "you are responsible". The loss of his brother and the guilt is so overwhelming that every time the memory is brought up, his speech begins to stutter.

Of all the childhood trauma executions done in the IT series, I like Billy's story the best, followed by Beverly's.

Grown up Billy, was still so crazy for Georgie, he didn't even think once that by all this time Georgie would have grown up....he didn't think it can be fake instead he instantly forwarded a helping hand.
