I made something like this myself a few years ago. I used a travelers notebook cover and mini happy planner inserts i cut down to be skinny like this. Then I tried with travelers notebook inserts that worked with the strings on the system. Then i ended up going back to using my debit card because it's too hard for my family to keep track of cash. We wouldn't know what it was spent on and can't organize receipts to save our lives. Now i set up my budget in the same way, but we spend on the card to have a ready to go record on our account. Also, my son's birthday is the same as yours, he just turned 11!

I tried a notebook setup like this a while back, but the bulkiness and upkeep didn't work for me. I finally found cash DIVIDERS. They work in the same way as envelopes, but they slip into the cash pocket of your (long) wallet. Each divider is labeled with the category, and I keep a tracker in each section. It's so much easier than needing to fish into each envelope and flip through your envelopes while at a register. They work so much better for me and still keep the organized/chic look. I absolutely love them.

EDIT: I keep my "carry around" cash separate from my saving cash. I have a ringed binder of pockets and envelopes with my separated larger amounts that I keep at home, so I'm not carrying around all of my cash.

I use both cash and cashless systems. I have cash envelopes for categories where I have to pay cash (bowling) and then I have multiple debit cards for each cashless category (grocery, gas, spending, etc…) Yes, I have multiple checking accounts, but the separation of my money works best for me. So happy my cousin recommended your channel to me!

I use dividers with tabs in my wallet for my cash envelope system. Makes is super easy because then you dont have open envelopes etc when trying to pay for something

Hello, that was nice but I wouldn’t carry that one around that would hold sinking funds. This cash env system has gotten me all the way together. I ordered a system from Amazon but got different env from a YouTuber that I use I love it. Never going back, my middle name is envelope. Lol!

Someone who reviewed this said the happy planner mini discs works well inside if you need to accommodate more. I just purchased the red lizard and plan to use it for travel, car specific items or home related. I missed the option to add additional envelopes.

I set up a A6 Louis Vuitton agenda as my wallet.. put a three card plastic holder for front page to hold by driver’s license and frequently used debit cards, other cards such as insurance i put in the card slots.. Printed off and made cash envelopes and put them in with printed tracker inside each.. it’s beautiful 🤣.. just need cash to go in there now

Can you still do a video on digital card use, e.g. debit cards? I find the cash system too time consuming. Just my opinion. It’s a bougie item however for those using cash.
