I think we need more great dramadies, well good ones, really looking forward to this movie. Heard so many great things about it.

I was so moved by this film. Just a good old-fashioned dramedy with great writing, and great performances especially from DevineJoy Randolph. One of the best Christmas movies I've seen.

I saw The Holdovers at an early screening near the end of October and it was fantastic, one of my favorite films of the year so far. I loved how it captured the 1970 setting, the screenplay is terrific perfectly balancing comedy and drama and the performances are fantastic especially from Paul Giamatti, Da’Vine Joy Randolph and newcomer Dominic Sessa. One of Alexander Payne’s best films since Sideways.

This movie is quite difficult to find in theaters, which is a HUGE bummer. But I'm very glad to see that we've got a great movie in an otherwise shaky year for movies.

So glad this movie came to your theatre because it hasn’t come to mine yet

A total DISGRACE that the incredibly talented Dominic Sessa was overlooked by The Academy for his truly remarkable film debute. There is no movie without him. Paul Jiamatti has nothing and no one to "play off off" if not for Sessa's character. Let's face it...Sessa's performance has afforded Giamatti the adulation and awards that should be shared/bestowed upon this talented young actor. His elimination from this year's Academy's nominations is just another example of the corruptness, nepotism, favoritism and political correctness that pervades that town and movie industry. It's still "who you know", "who you screwed", "who your family is", " what politically-correct COLOR you happen to be", "how much of your soul you've traded for stardom", etc. Disgusting!

Curious to check this one out, won’t be able to in theaters tho. I saw I can already rent it on streaming tho, so I know I’ll check it out soon. I wonder if it’ll end up high on my list of films this year.

when i finally get to see it alone...im gonna have me a nice cry. my favorite thing about the movie is you assume its one thing--the literal meaning of holdovers in the movie--and then it became this social politcal existentual holdovers the forgotten among us. the forgotten pieces in us that we throw away but are so essential to who we are as humans.

One of the best movies of the year, Giamatti better get an Oscar nomination! ❤

This is this year's Licorice Pizza, a critics' darling, but it is not going to see a winning awards season.

Hey Sean! Just wondering, how do you determine what movies you give a full review on the main channel, and what ones you have shorter reviews for on here? Is it the ones that you didn’t have time for a full review for as soon as they came out, so then the shorter reviews come here?

Horrible movies. Not Oscar worthy for sure.

I heard they use old 1970 movie cameras to film this movie that to me is what made this movie so great to
