Their building was destroyed (20 feet of water really damages any sturcture) and all 200 of their cars were destroyed too- crazy and so sad. They need federal, state and local assistance.

OMG! This was insane. I'm glad the news is covering other areas that were impacted. I hope FEMA acts fast.

I hope they get the help/funding they need. I'm so glad the news is showcasing the various areas. Some people have been quick to say this wasn't a serious storm, simply because their direct home or apartment building or vehicle wasn't damaged. It's amazing, yet not uncommon, for storms like this to cause major damage on one street, but the next street over will have little or significantly less...it's crazy how mother nature operates. I live about a 15 minute walk from that area.

OMG, none of this should've happened. The state and city should be assisting with this.

the quickest way is to built a temporary elevator outside the building like the one they use in construction site just to transfer food and emergency use

Grab nickel long beach I bet. Waiting for parts. She ought to check out hotels closed for renovations along the coast! Shell get the parts she needs. Or contact city manicapalities. Find out of she can get a slightly used air conditioning elevator parts in chicago. Millwalkee. California will jerk u around!!! South florida. A lot of states have foreclosures on buildings. Buyers want to replace everything. Even if new. They want to up grade to smart technologies. Those elderly and disabled need hair and elevator's now.

It won't be wise to rebuild the machine rooms in the current space; get licenses to resituate the buildings' machinery-hubs however inconvenient it may be: the full amount of floodwater has to be planned-for and accommodated with massive storm-drain overhauls, even more inconvenient, any plan will take a decade to implement with republicans making it about politics.

You know there's communities with way lower resources in worse shape then them. It's forest hills how about you spread to communities who do not have the financial means like they do in forest hills instead of the well off.
