Florida state representative sponsors bill that would ban intentional release of balloons

Republican State Rep. Linda Chaney from District 61, which covers the Tampa-St. Petersburg area, is sponsoring the new legislation that would ban the intentional release of all balloons in Florida.

This is a PERFECT BILL ... I hope it does pass. When I lived in Ft.Lauderdale I saw dead birds with balloon strings wrapped around them and even a dead sea turtle with what was left of a balloon sticking out of it's mouth. GET RID OF ALL BALLOONS FOR GOOD !!!

That’s amazing I know a neighborhood who releases balloons after one of the role get killed all the time . Time for me too start calling the cops .

I know one group is not going to be happy about this. Constantly releasing balloons when they are burying their kin.
There's already a similar law on the books about this in Florida but it's never enforced.
