Adding USB Redirection to the Raspberry Pi + Proxmox Thin Client

In this video, I explore USB Redirection with the SPICE based Thin Client I setup on a Raspberry Pi, connected to a Proxmox hypervisor. I explore the options in remote-viewer for USB redirection, device filters, and test several classes of USB device including flash drives / mass storage, USB serial, and cameras. Not all of them work perfectly due to bandwidth limits of the thin client setup, but all devices were correctly redirected and detected by the guest, and most worked fine.

For some reason i get a black screen for windows login. I have to log in on the windows machine. And also my mouse just does not work at all. I see my windows desktop but cant do anything at all

Try removing the quotes around your $USBRULES variables in the command string. That should fix the auto redirect.

Do you have any idea if this method work with a USB WiFi adapter?

I'm toying with the idea of manually installing ProxMox VE on Debian Bullseye on my laptop, to try and get a Pwnagotchi running in a VM, just for giggles. I was going to try and share the onboard 802.11AC miniPCI-E card, but even though the CPU supports virtualization, it doesn't support the IOMMU groups necessary for providing access to the PCI-E card without causing all sorts of problems. So I'm trying to see if a USB WiFi adapter might work instead.
