Meaning of ROUGH AROUND THE EDGES - A Really Short English Lesson with Subtitles
Показать описание
READ ALONG TO PRACTICE YOUR ENGLISH AND TO LEARN THE MEANING OF ROUGH AROUND THE EDGES: So in English when we say something is "rough around the edges" it means that it's not perfect but it's good enough. So let's say that you needed to buy a car, but you couldn't afford to buy a brand new car, but you've found a car that has some rust on it, and the inside of the car isn't perfect, but the car runs well and is completely useable. You could describe that car as being a little bit rough around the edges. You can also describe people that way. People that aren't exactly perfect and they have some unique qualities. In fact you could say that I'm a little bit rough around the edges. I'm not perfect, I don't claim to be perfect, but I still have a lot of good qualities so Bob the Canadian is a little rough around the edges.
