We bought a Mahindra jeep in 1989 it's still running. And Mahindra pick-up and Jeep is used heavily here due to bad terrain. In some places with the rough road that is the only capable pickup that can transport goods. Pre 2010 Only Mahindra vehicles were able to reach my home due to bad road conditions.

It took India some time to warm up to Mahindra SUV as well. They persisted and now is one of the beloved car makers

I drive this car in India..2017 W10 model and its a fantastic car. Low on maintenance cost and very good value for money. Has good space on offer. Got all the features required as well.

People have gone so luxurious minded, that auto tail door has become a must. Logically speaking, its a useless thing. Simply not needed.

You might not be familiar but that doesn't mean other companies don't exist.
Mahindra is worlds largest tractor brand and they make farm equipments, utility vehicles, medium and heavy commercial vehicles like trucks and even airplanes and much more. And you are telling they don't know how to make cars !!

Mahindra has got much bigger market to serve locally, no need to look beyond. But yes, if Mahindra really like to make impression than lots of things to be done on interiors and marketing. U can’t put same car overseas what u sell in India. Indian version can fit well in South Asia and African market who actually prefers more in economical price range .

Xuv 500 is actually getting outdated in India too so by the end of 2021 mahindra is changing whole look. But these cars are super relaible n cheap to repair.
