How to Run and Control Multiple Instances of a Game.

This video will show how to Run Multiple Instances of a Game or Program.
There is a second Segment where i run Divinity Original Sin 2 also.

This Requires Display Fusion or Similar Software.
You can Get Display Fusion from their Website or in the Steam Store.
I'm not sure if the Free version has this feature or not.

This only works if the Game allows you to run more than one instance.
Programs that require the same files to run may require you to create 2 separate Copies of the Files.

This does not just work with games. Other applications work as well, and they do not have to be the same application. You could be Controlling a game with your controller while your friend uses the mouse to search for game guides or videos. The thing to make sure of is that both applications are not needing the same Input Device. or Key's

the drop it down, bring it back up technique was because this was an older version of Display Fusion.
the newer updates fixed this problem. Just make sure the application is highlighted before trying to capture a second one.

Read ME before Commenting.... This method does not support Multiple Mouse Inputs. That is a Hardware Problem not software. This does not work with every application. If the application only runs a single instance, this won't work. In some cases you have to create multiple directories containing the engine of the application you want to run, (most emulators need this as they pull and modify information in folder). In some applications you can run multiple instances, but the application may not allow you to split your controls, in this case you may need to use a controller emulator like xpadder to trick the application into thinking you have more than one control setup. How this trick works... In Windows, when you click on a window/application you give that window Focus. That means your inputs and controls are sent to that window/application. This also adds that app/window to a list to be Deactivated. So when you then click a different window, it goes back and deactivates that window. This trick, removes our app from the Deactivation List. However, if we click one of our windows, it gets Readded to the Deactivation List. That is why we cant use the mouse on more than one window.

I have been hunting for a solution like this for ages but have been coming up short. I am trying to find a way to play multiple instances of a single application while simultaneously controlling them. Unfortunately the controls requite me to click on screen. Do you have any advice?

it wasn't showing on the context menu for me, so i put the "never lose focus" button on the title bar instead. it's actually easier this way. i just have to click the icon on one of the windows and then highlight the other one and use that normally. i'll be controlling both.

the problem is just about any movement i do desyncs the games. it might be because i'm streaming one of them via parsec from my laptop since it doesn't allow multiple clients, but i thought there would be no reason for desync since the inputs are theoretically the same. but apparently parsec alters the input ever so slightly. sadge. i suppose i could still do it with a virtual machine, but fuck that. too much of a hassle.
