The engine mounts simply wear out over time. Absorbing some of the torque forces from the engine to carrier soften them up and wear them out. When replacing mounts always replace them in pairs. While the factory did a great job of designing a mount that meets the requirements between everyday street driving and the sportiness expected from a Porsche they are a compromise towards the softer side. If you DE or track your 991.1, or just want a little more throttle response there is a host of aftermarket engine mounts that allow adjustment and increased stiffness. We are going to show you how to replace your stock mounts as well as add aftermarket mounts from Rennline.

Great video. How did you handle the remaining connector for the failed PADM mount and the associated message? With the new Rennline mounts, the connector is not utilized. Did you cover the connector's open end as to not let it become soiled/damaged? And how did you handle the PADM failure alert in-dash. I understand one option is to install a resistor to fool the system into believing an active mount is present. Alternatively, a dealer may be able to code out PADM... if they are willing to. Appreciate your insight.
