This is a fun and educational series. You can see this is a labor of love with all the care that is put in. I hope no copyright strikes happen with the fun clips being used. They really add to the experience.

I'm not a scotch guy by any means, but I've been enjoying these latest videos. Keep up the good work, Erik.

Love the Homer quote... one of my favorites.

Great videos, Erick! One small correction, though: Duncan Forbes of Culloden asked for £54, 000 as compensation for his loses when his Ferintosh distillery was sacked by the Jacobites (and not £5, 400). Instead of that payment, the government gave him permission to distill tax-free in perpetuity, permission which was withdrawn in 1784 as part of the Wash Act of that year (also, the Highland Line defined was different from the one depicted in the video, going further north in the eastern part, as it originally included towns as Stirling, Perth and Dumbarton. The line was redefined in 1785, excluding those towns).

Always learning more after each video, my take is the excise taxes avoidance does not necessarily yield good whisky. Cheers!
