Class of 1976. We ate on the South Green, in a building called The Commons. Me and my friends lived in the East Green, ...later we ate in an East Green, cafeteria. I thought the food was very good, way better than my high school's cafeteria. The dessert items were the best. Pies, cakes, and even self-serve, Soft serve, custard. They had toppings and chocolate syrup. It was easy to sneak back in line for seconds. My favorites was Apple-Brown Betty, ....and something that just looked like a plate frosting, without any cake beneath it. Sometimes items like mashed potatoes, or rice side dishes were still quite edible. One of my room mates, was a cartoon artist, and if he was bored with the side dishes, he sculpt the mashed potatoes or rice into faces of former president Richard Nixon.

I lived in Biddle and Gam back in the day. I can't believe this. Back then they threw a few plates of some crap on a plate and that was it. We used to grab the "hamburger, " cut through the line after the drink line, and then grab another hamburger. That was it everyday! We were always hungry. The walk up Jeff Hill for an 8 class wasn't fun either. I loved that time in Athens.
