Xiaomi S700 electric shaver - unboxing & review

The Xiaomi S700 electric shaver is slightly fancier and more expensive model than the popular S500 shaver. It comes in this beautiful hard blue box. There’s not a single word in English on this box. Just Chinese.
The kit is very elegantly packed. Here we got this metal stand, the shaver itself, a usb type-c cable and a small cleaning brush. Disappointingly, the user-manual is entirely in Chinese as well. I look at the pictures and try to guess what they mean…
The shaver is very well built, it feels solid and high quality. There are two charging ports, one for travel and another for the stand. The blades look very nice and adjustable to your face.
Here we got the power button and the mode button, to chose one of the 3 available modes.
I guess these are low, medium and high. Can’t say for sure with that Chinese user-manual.
This is my first ever electric shaver so I have nothing to compare it with. But I would say its relatively quiet and it shaves OK. Its nowhere near a regular razor but its good enough.
Unfortunately there’s no corner cutter blade. But with some practice you can do without.
Its fun to snap-on and off the magnetic cover. The metal stand is nice, but it can stand just fine without it as well.
The shaver is easy to clean and can be washed in water, this is a big plus.
Overall this is a good balance between price and quality, if you into electric shavers, this one is not bad at all but If you unsure between S500 and S700, I would advise to get the cheaper one.

whats the point of slow and medium setting? Always fastest otherwise you get tugging. Gimmick

Thanks for the info. My experience with the S500 is the blades dulled to the point of being unusable after a couple of months. That is incredibly short when the Panasonic Arc5 blades last a year. Hopefully these new S700 ceramic blades last much longer?

This object wants to be high-end without having the means. Fragile and slow razor. Mine fell into disrepair after less than 20 hours of use out of the promised 240 hours of use. I should have chosen another brand

Can you use the S700 blades in the S500 model?

Xiaomi looks fancy but is such bad quality. I bought one and it stopped charging in a year. Regret buying this and will stick with better brands from now on, ie Philips, Braun, Panasonic. My old Philips lasted over a decade in comparison.

The charging on mijia s300, s500, s700 shavers is biggest problem. The charging start deteriorating after few weeks and then it's dead. Don't recommend buying theses and lookalikes.
Update: The waterproof claim is rubbish. Keep these away from water & moisture. My battery is now working. The water/moisture seeped in and damaged circuits which I got cleaned and now battery 🔋is working fine.
