Longevity matters. City have been in League One before and are 8th in terms of average league position since the start of the Football League. Arsenal meanwhile, have never been in League One and have only spent 1 or 2 seasons in the 2nd tier (the lowest of any English club), and are 2nd in the Average League position table since the start of the Football League. It’s the same with Chelsea, They’ve been in the 2nd tier a billion times, even as recently as 1989, and they are 7th in the average league position table. Besides that, Arsenal certainly also has more fan support than Chelsea and City. Trophies aren’t the only things that matter.
