No matter how you try, there're some crop of Nigerians whom their job is to never appreciate good things, and when you ask them what they've contributed to the country all they tell you is 'Government is not doing anything for them'....let them come to diaspora and see things for themselves, life is about give and take.

For a body that is ‘above probe and scrutiny’ and mostly shielded around secrecy.

This is not the same Nigerian Army or military Nigerians used to know. The bad luck that affects everything this government and its leadership touches has affected our military as well.
It has been torn from top to bottom by religious bigotry, ethnic and regional factionalism, which are the creations of Muhammadu Buhari and the Alqaeda Peoples' Congress.
They are our our soldiers and we know and share the same umbilical as they.
It is not necessary to delve into past incidences that confirm that the Nigerian military, particularly the Army, has been hugely compromised.
No amount of talk shop can repair the damage caused to the military by this government and its leaders.
Instead, the heads of the Nigerian military should embark on the near-impossible task of self-purging, to identify and weed out those within who are hand in glove with the enemy it is fighting against.
When Nigerians read about the backstabbing by their leaders, or listen to the many confessions of soldiers who felt done in by their commanding officers while engaging the enemy, it only goes to erode their confidence and trust in their military.
Just as with the civil society, the Nigerian political leaders had knowingly allowed ethnicity, religion and regional factors into the fabrics of the military. This is my opinion.
