This video is a sequel to my video "A Basic Patch". Here I'm showing how to create a melody using the sequencer SEQ16 and the QUANTIZER module. There's also a short performance where you can see (and hear) this technique in a musical context.

00:00 Introduction
01:24 Performance
12:10 How to use the SEQ16
21:00 How to use the Quantizer

And check out this cool thumbnail, made by my son. Thank you, Robin!

Please check out my other tutorials in the Getting Started series for more information on the various modules of the AE Modular system.

Watching this has just made the Quantizer a more urgent module to purchase!

This is reminds me of early experimental music from the fifties and sixties. So many cables. All of us that are involved in synthesis are like mad scientists, Dr. Frankenstein would be proud. Another fantastic presentation my friend!

Perfect timing. Waited almost 5 months but i just got my second 2 row case with the Wavetable, Solina, and Quantizer modules. Plus some utilities and more cables. That patch sounded great keep them coming. I guess i need a seq8 or two now.

As always, great performance and very informative tutorial. The quantizer module was something that I was waiting for with baited breath when I heard they were developing it. Getting the quantizer was crucial to making the sort of modular music I wanted to make. It’s a great module and I think everyone should have it in their system.

this is a great tutorial, so many thanks. I have watched all of your "starting" series and they are great but I especially like the way in this one you build it up and describe exactly what and why each patch is there. I'd love to see how you build this up in a mini series perhaps? e.g. adding the bass using the seq8 - just a thought. Always grateful for the time you give to these. Great work.

Great track and content!
Is this entire 4-row setup running off of just the one Master I/O power source?
