My toddler daughter will push my husband and I together for hugs and kisses and then watch. She clasps her hands under her chin and goes "awe". It gets a laugh out of everyone.
She also loves it when my husband and I dance together. We're retired ballroom competitors and we danced together at a family member's wedding. My daughter loved it! Now she asks us to dance whenever there is music. What's great is she'll dance right next to us.

My daughter who is autistic and nonverbal always gets a huge smile when my wife and I show affection to each other.

100% agree that a loving relationship shows kids HOW a good relationship should be. Where else are they going to learn?

Preach on, brother. Strong marriages lay a foundation and example for them to follow later in their own relationships. 💯

As someone who just graduated high school and is very blessed with amazing parents, this is percent true. I would always fake disgust but I’d also be smiling. I find my parents to be so cute. My dad being a gentleman has given me good standards.

On the opposite side of this, my parents always made sure to never hide their arguments. It was great to always be able to see 1) that it was okay to be upset with each other and 2) that they were able to show us that arguments didn’t dictate their love for one another. I’d often see them arguing then moments later be all flirty. Made no sense growing up but now that I’m married, witnessing that has helped me now

I grew up in the exact opposite with fighting, screaming, and sometimes physical abuse parents to each other and us. I truly and deeply commend you for providing that kind of home life for your kids! I’ll be 58 in a few weeks and can get yanked right back to the memories of that situation in a heartbeat. Trust me. I would have definitely rather have had parents like what you demonstrate.

Never bothered me that my parents acted like that toward each other. I don’t think I’ve ever seen my mom walk past my dad without him patting her on the rear. They’ve been married 41 years and are 61. I think it’s beautiful.

Absolutely!
Today our 20 something son was cleaning the roof of our camper trailer while hubby & I (married 43 years) were manning the rinse hoses…. And YES he & I started a water fight! Big TIME❤️❤️
Our son said “Ok kids knock it off!😂”
I said “Son, you should be happy we still love to fool around, and we still like each other!!”😂
Son says “oh I am … but you aren’t doing your jobs!” 🤷‍♀️👏🏼😂
“And I’m on a ladder!” 🫣
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

As someone whose parents divorced a few years ago and stopped really showing affection years before that, I eat it up when I see happy couples. It's the most amazing thing ever. I visited my friend a few weeks ago and made some crafts. I picked them up a day later and saw her parents giving each other massages on the couch and I literally cried on the way home. People with loving parents are lucky and I hope that they can appreciate it.

As a teenager, I can confirm that despite how much I act grossed out to see my parents kiss or hold hands or even cuddle, it still comforts me know that our family is stable. They also set the best example for me to know how I should treat my future wife; with love, respect, and a lot of patience.

My parents separated for a year when I was 11, thanks be to God they got back together, from that moment on I loved seeing my parents being affectionate to each other.

So true. My parents were openly affectionate and loved to joke around with each other. Not only did us kids (60F now) love it but my older cousin (14F then) loved to come over to our house and would always comment on their love for each other. I'm hoping that they are waltzing together in heaven. They were amazing dancers and always moved in step. 🤗🇨🇦🙏

I NEVER remember a spontaneous show of affection between two of our family members - EVER. Seems there would have been at least ONE time where that would have been appropriate. Good for you Nick.

There’s a guy that does gentle parenting, his form of discipline for the kids is flirting with their mother. It’s so funny hearing their groans about the flirting, and that it actually gets them to do as their told, while simultaneously showing them the importance of a loving relationship.
