I have of the upgraded housings for the popular FNIRSI DPOX180H handheld Oscilloscopes. Icould not find any instructions for fitting this upgrade, though it was obvious that some people have searched for info on how to use these. So let's upgrade our DPOX180H and see if this is an improvement on the original version

You can buy the DPOX180H here

I like the rubberized/silicone sleeve on original more than full plastic case from new one. Bigger buttons on new one seem better.

My unit came as the new casing, and I certainly agree that it's great! I like it. The buttons are nice and responsive.

P.S. - Plus it was so nice to have a commentary with your - How To Video - As most Electronics how to videos only play Rubbish Lift Muzzak or NOT Say or text - 8 Screws But One is hidden here - etc ....

Most of the struggle with the re-assembly seems to caused by excess pressure from the foam strips. With all that pent up pressure and lack of silicon sleeve I suspect it will self destruct at the first drop. May I suggest you go back in and bevel the foam strips to reduce the assembly force. As for removing the battery, one method I have used in the past is to cut the foam using a sawing action with fishing line to cut trough the DS foam adhesive.

Spot of iso reduces the stickiness of those pads😀👍

A squirt of ISO to the battery DSS glue will free the glue up and make it less sticky. But it was fun to watch your bruit force attack LOL

The main processor is the little chip, F1C100s by Allwinner near the display ribbon. The big chip is some sort of jungle signal thing, could it be a CPLD or an FPGA? Something to manage and buffer the signals till the application processor gets around to take care of them.

"Digital Phosphor" probably refers to software function of fading image trails, rather than anything to do with the display itself. Looks like a basic IPS screen, which is fine, it's good. Unfortunately it's semi custom i think, obviously the display panel is off the shelf, but the shape of the ribbon bonded onto it makes it a custom item.

I like the look and function of the case upgrade. Does anybody know the link to get just the upgraded case ? I am only finding hundreds of the complete oscilloscopes but no just the upgraded case.

Hi - Looks like the old blue housing still had a screen cover in place after you swapped over - Does it also transfer as a protector?

Looks like the new case was an afterthought.😂 The new buttons are a nice touch but no real protection against damage if dropped. Overall, in my opinion, I agree it's not worth the effort or cost to upgrade the housing.

Think the casing at the top is not closing because of the foam on the back of the LCD. I'd shave a little off. Not a fan of the chonky styling even if the new buttons have nicer positive action. Maybe the old case can be recut to fit the new buttons? Are they taller?

Add a few drops of Isopropyl alcohol, is will release the sticky pad. :)

I think they should have just redone the buttons on the original case to make the buttons larger. That would still retain the silicone outer housing for shockproofing.
