Apparently Wittgenstein used to walk around the college he worked at and try convince other Professors to quit their jobs because they're fields were pointless

I really like him

I hope you get around to putting out a video on how matters "being of a language problem" allows for an answer to existentialism.

Writing a short essay on Wittgenstein’s Picture Theory of Meaning as it relates to film making and the influence it has had on the art form.

Wittgenstein is the only philosopher who debunked himself

The economist is Piero Sraffa. I think that answer by Sraffa easily leads to an advocacy of logical pluralism like that of Graham Priest.

Krishnamurti was once asked "what is God?", and he gave the only right answer: god is a word.

I can’t believe how such a great thinker didn’t see the problem with the picture theory of language earlier. It’s not a bad theory but it’s very incomplete. But later Wittgenstein is superb

I would like to link this to other 20th century ideas about language and linguistics. How does it from structuralism of Bloomfield linguistics, Cognitive Linguistics, Chomskian Linguistics, or any linguistics?

So, for him how is it that the concept of “time” is sustained? Does he reduce it to movement?

Words are more akin to symbols then pictures IMO. Glad he moved on the simplistic views of the Tractatus. But I still like the Tractatus for its Spinoza style! Trying to force complex issues into simple solutions is hmmm, not the right direction. The World is complex and so is our thinking and perception.

Did Wittgenstein ever write visual analysis of artworks? This video featured paintings and photographs throughout, and I found that interesting!

I believe you have overlooked one of the main points made by his picture theory work. That is pictorial representation not so much form. If I paint a picture of a pipe sat on a table and someone asks me what it is. I can’t paint further paintings depicting me painting the said pipe and table, that would be in need of a similar explanation. To answer what is it, I would need to, use a different pictorial representation, like language, text or show them the actual pipe and table. If you apply this claim to the question “ what is the meaning of life” then we would need to be outside of life to explain it, remember the meaning of a painting lies outside of its pictorial form. Our pictorial form is language and anything which lies outside of it is nonsense and we need to keep quiet about it. There is no such thing as a wordless thought.

I like how in a single conversation a non expert in philosophy debunked Wittgenstein with a single gesture.
