The Tandy Radio Shack Model I came out 1977 together with the Commodore PET 2001 and the Apple II. It marks the second generation of personal computers where it was not needed to solder the machine together. It was one of the first computer for the masses and was sold very well.

Wrote my very first program on this in BASIC. It was a text adventure game. Good memories.

I had one of these Model I's from Radio Shack as shown here. These machines had a fairly advanced Microsoft Level II BASIC that came built into the machine and of course a cassette tape interface and recorder. I just wish the people that demo these machines could think of more sophisticated programs to demo its capabilities. This was a great machine learn BASIC and Z80 assembly language on!

I have one of these in pristine conditon, because it was stored in its big cube plastic case and mothballed. I have never fired it up. Has the Silver B&W tv. Not quite sure how to hook it up and I don't care. My PETs and Model II's and IIIs of the same era fire up tho, just flipping the switch on them.

It looks like it would be fun to smash apart. You should do a video of that.
