Thank you for showing your comics graded. Great cases.

“Is it the clear choice?” Depends on how much Newton rings are on CGC slab.

Love the Star Wars comics! I've been getting primarily the modern Star Wars and hopefully I can get a few graded and hold on to them for some time.

Hey I think I told you before there is not much of a difference with resale value whenever you need the money. I am Bob in Connecticut I think I told you I gave up working years ago because of comic books I was a bartender. But I believe I mentioned I got to gorgeous comic books last month CBCS 9.8 signed by artist and writer edge of spider verse 2 . I had to give my friend 10 raw copies of Spawn 1 I gave him an ungraded edge of spider verse 2 and I gave him a 1993SP Derek Jeter PSA 8 . The thing I am trying to say is when you resell you might get a little less CBCS than CGC but it’s very comparable and yes CBCS They are totally awesome

Maybe the #68 has color fading. It looks like there is a weird contrast in the colors. Or it could be the color correction of the video?

But thank you so much for doing this video and letting us peek into the process of CBCS

One thing I do like about CBCS is that the label doesn’t “POP” as much. I generally disagree with this as should you be buying/presenting the book or the label. The “POP” on CGC labels is good for CGC as it’s marketing. However, the problem becomes the selling point being the label and not the book.

get you a bottle of the acrylic polish for car headlights. I use that on all of scuffed cases.

All Star Wars #1’s (1977) are Newsstand Editions.

I will forever use CBCS for PC and CGC for selling. CBCS has better cases, better customer service, combined shipping, faster turnaround, and better shipping.

Oh man, I have a Star Wars 42 newstand that I purchased at a flea market for 3 dollars when I was 14. I left it and a few others out in my room admiring them one day. My 3 year old niece at the time came into my room and drew on the cover and left some light pen marks on it. Without those marks, its a 9.4 easy.

My heart still sinks to this day seeing that book and I'm 41.

How long did it take to get them back after the Con?

“How often do you really look at the back of your books?”

Um. Every single time. Front, back and every page. Cuz they grade it all dontcha know:)

CBCS is the true grading company they are very strict but at least you know what the grade really is. They don’t over grade books like CGC and PGX.

I am a CBCS customer, however, scuffs are an issue. Once I complained to CBCS about the cases not looking new, they blamed the manufacturer. The other critique I have is their call center in India, not in Texas, unless they changed call center????

With those Star Wars books being in the early 80s aren’t the direct versions the rare ones not newsstand?

I don’t mind the prices of CGC but if turn around time doesn’t improve I might be done with them.

I'm worried that CBCS will become overwhelmed with new customers, and eventually fall into the same rut that CGC fell into. Quality will start to suffer, and shipping times will drastically increase. I personally hate the very idea of sending books to a grading company. I was against it from the beginning. I stand behind my idea that local comic shop owner should be able to be trained as licensed comic graders, and receive a professional grader certification. Then you can be present while they grade your books, and they can show you what they see. This would eliminate long shipping times, books being damaged by the grader, and questionable grades. Just my opinion.

IMO CBCS grades a little harsher. Plus I've had 3 big books I sent to them that came back damaged. Hulk 180, 181, amazing Spider-Man 101. The Hulk 181 came back with a grid pattern of foxing on the back from when it was pressed. The 180 cane back eith a crease at the top staple, the amazing 101 came back with a color breaking corner crease. Plus it took 6-7 months for the books to return.
