I spent one year at the swedish Air force. Seeing a Gripen take off never gets old. Beautiful plane.

From what I've heard, this plane has been consistently beating the F-15, F-16 and F-18 in almost every NATO exercise in recent years. Only the F-22, for obvious reasons, gave the Gripen significant issue. The best part is that it's considerably cheaper than ALL of those US planes. I have a feeling we're going to be seeing a lot more Gripens being used in the years to come.

As a member of the national guard, i had the fortune to guard two pairs of gripens as they refueled at a civilian airport. We saw them land, taxi to us, and the techninans did thier check ups. Even got a tour of the planes. Then they took of again, it was loud as hell. Even got Free pizza. Awesome Day.

Nice video shot :D LOL It crack me up every time I hear some one speaking English ( including Swed's ) call it "Grip(p)en" when there is a English word for the name of the plane "Griffin".
The Swedish pronunciation for English speech is "Greepen" :D

The UK designed the wing on the C model. The version is NATO compatible unlike the A version so the pylons and stuff had to be changed
