The DPD is doing good things. I think it's a great idea to have cops in Detroit from Detroit live in Detroit & the community can see them & know them.

So respect Chief James Craig. He is a Law Enforcement official who is innovative & proactive w policing. God Bless him.

Craig was a great chief in Cincinnati. He made a lot of good changes but the good ol boys in that department saw to it that he was run out of town. Detroit is lucky to have him. He really is a decent man trying to make a difference.

Really cool! That cruiser was beautifully repainted and refurbished!

James Craig should run for Wayne County Sheriff in 2024. He is from this area and it makes since. The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department needs serious leadership and a morale boost the deputies haven’t had for some time now, James Craig could easily get back in the game.

The Detroit Police have a really tough job to do. Wish them the best.

I know I'm 3 years late on this but I'm still a little confused I've honestly never heard of a city not allowing their officers to take home vehicles. I live in Hillsborough County Florida which is a very large County and has a large police force with multiple different agencies but all of them take-home cars even the small ones. Is this normal in a lot of counties and cities, for police officers to not be able to take their vehicles home?

Cruiser looks good, like the paint/decal, also notice the Flag on fender is in moving forward direction.

Goofy. Lots of departments do this. Guess they're several years behind the times.

There are definitely a lot of upsides, however one huge downside. It could lead to officers being ambushed coming home or while they’re at home. It could also lead to their houses being burgled while they aren’t home. Even worse, it could lead to attacks on the officers family.

At the first mention of GOD the interview was not suddenly in TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES, and THAT is how we know it wasn't a CNN interview !! Now I am seeing a growing industry in mobile tire repair, unless the parked cruisers are surrounded by enough lights and razor wire to qualify as a jail-break !!!
