Wednesday is an American coming-of-age supernatural comedy horror streaming television series based on the character Wednesday Addams by Charles Addams.
Four out of the eight episodes are directed by Tim Burton, who also serves as executive producer. It revolves around Wednesday Addams, who attempts to solve a monster mystery at her new school.

Premise:
Wednesday Addams is expelled from her school after dumping live piranhas into the school's pool in retaliation for the boys' water polo team bullying her brother Pugsley. Consequently, her parents Gomez and Morticia Addams enroll her at their high school alma mater Nevermore Academy, a private school for monstrous outcasts, in the town of Jericho, Vermont. Wednesday's cold, emotionless personality and her defiant nature make it difficult for her to connect with her schoolmates and cause her to run afoul of the school's principal Larissa Weems. However, she discovers she has inherited her mother's psychic abilities which allow her to solve a local murder mystery.

Curiosities:
How old was Wednesday Addams?
The title character is portrayed as a high school-aged teen in Tim Burton’s Wednesday. While Jenna Ortega was approximately 19 years old when filming Wednesday, the character is reportedly around 16 years old when the series begins. Wednesday is once again depicted as the older sibling of the Addams family in Tim Burton’s show, but her brother Pugsley’s exact age isn’t clear. If The Addams Family TV show has a long life on Netflix, Wednesday could finally see the character as an adult in a major adaptation.

Why is Wednesday called Wednesday?
In the first episode of the show, "Wednesday's Child Is Full of Woe," the eldest Addams child's name is explained. Principal Weems comments on how unique the moniker is, guessing that the teen was born on a Wednesday and thus was named after the day. Wednesday replies that she was born on Friday the 13th (a fitting choice), with Morticia explaining that Wednesday is named after a line in her favorite, classic nursery rhyme, "Monday's Child," which was first recorded in A. E. Bray's Traditions of Devonshire in 1838. The specific line Morticia likes is "Wednesday’s child is full of woe."

Does Wednesday have powers?
Wednesday's powers come in the form of psychic visions of the past and future. While she isn't able to conjure these visions on demand, she does experience them when touching an object that triggers her supernatural powers. Wednesday inherited these powers from her mother, Morticia Addams.
