1964 JTM 45 restored

Very special JTM 45 from 1964 that I had the honor of restoring. Chrome front with beveled knobs. RS output transformer. The owner didn't send the headcab, just the chassis, but the cab features two-tone front and coffin logo.

This version of the JTM 45 has a wide frequency response and some of the most beautiful clean tones you'll ever experience. I wished I had a Strat for this clip, but I don't even own one right now.

Gil Yaron burst, as usual. Checkerboard slant with G12H 30's.

Well, you are one of those holy grail of tone type guys! This would be yet another fine example of such a tone....Would never get bored of that!

"I wished I had a Strat for this clip, but I don't even own one right now." Hey, we've all been there, pal. Just so long as you don't own an accordion (shotgun target), you should be okay. After all, you still have at least ONE Les Paul (or reasonable facsimile thereof--and a pretty one, too).

Sounds amazing! RS OT set to 8K?
And do you prefer that vs the Drake OT? Probably the infamous apples vs oranges. Each have their own unique qualities.
Also, what kind of plate voltage were you getting, and did you use the variac to adjust for 120VAC?
Sorry for being "question quigly", but the tone was incredible, and I'm curious.

Hi George, this video is great. Would you be able to do a similar video for the tweed bassman you have in the background?

Great tone! What were your amp settings? Was your loudness 2. also cranked?

I also heard that Bare Knuckle Mule Pickups are great quality PAF pickups to put in a Les Paul, or Les Paul type, of guitars. Ever heard of them before? What do you think of them? They aren't cheap whatsoever. They sell for $300 to $350 a set.

I’m actually surprised at the amount of natural gain you’re able to dial in with it here. That’s just insane dynamics. What’s so special about the output transformer? I know nothing of Marshall’s this old and diving into their very early days. It sounds great! What all was needed to be done?

Nice, I would like to have one, but it’s funny you have an amp that you can’t listen to it, have to use ear mufflers

So the Superplex 50 will sound just like this, right? ;)

George, Are those Gil Yaron Les Pauls worth the extravagant amount of money that they sell for, being close to 10k? That's a shit ton of money for a guitar. What, do you personally, think is the difference between them, and a regular Les Paul Standard, in your opinion? Do they have the tuning stability issues that many Les Pauls are known to have? I love Gibson Les Pauls, and always have, I'm just scared shitless to invest $2500 into one, with the fairly well known and frequent quality control issues that Gibson has had for quite a few years now. It became common knowledge, as Gibson became more exposed, over the recent year or two, that the Gibson Factory Workers, didn't have the specific lights that they needed, to work under, when building guitars..I, myself, have a USA PRS Mark Tremonti, that plays like no other guitar I played on over the years did..My USA PRS CE-24 is the same way. I've become a huge fan of PRS guitars over the years. I've thought about, in the next few years, of buying a Heritage H-100, when I have the money to do so..It's said that they're all made by hand, like the old gibsons used to be. The H-100's are identical, other than the headstock, to a USA Gibson Les Paul Standard, selling for the same price of $2500, at Sweetwater, but having the quality, if not better, than a USA Custom Les Paul, at a much lower price. What do you think about the quality of work, that Heritage Guitars, in the old Gibson Bldg, in Kalamazoo, Michigan puts out? I just value your opinion, since I know when it comes to guitars and amps that you know your shit.

This one sounds a bit brighter than your '66. Agree? Disagree?
