I prepared 3 cups of different drinks for Iftar after a hard day work, but I only managed to drink 2 cups, then I was already full and struggle to finish the food 😂

Once you understand the deep meaning of fasting, you don't really think about food neither feel hunger during Ramadan, it's something spiritual

Fasting also teaching us to stop eating before having full stomach because the stomach take times to digest the food and subtlely to eat less to experience how poor people can only eat whatever available to them

haha a lot of my non muslim friends ask if we have a huge feast for iftari, but in my household, we try to have a small simple meal for iftar instead. One thing that really bugs me is the amount of food waste during ramadhan

Of course the hunger makes us think about "what's for intar" ; home cooked or buy them outside but there's something bigger than that around 15 minutes before iftar. It's the du'a/prayer moments where we ask for forgiveness from Allah and for all the goodness, for our wishes, etc.

Make me remember my childhood while I was fasting. I ask my parents to prepare at least 3 type of drinking water just for breakfast. Im still child, don't know that Ramadan much required our mental strength instead of our physical strength. With strong and mental health, we can fasting better and no more counting what food we want to eat for breakfast. That's the wisdom in Islam, the ibadah only for who poses good mental health too.

When I used to work at kg baru area, my colleagues and I always tend to break out iftar together and I made a cruel rule to them that don't ever buy a snack for everyone. Just buy it for yourself. This is because the snack that one buy for oneself will end up being offer to everyone because we were so full with our main food.

Oh...that's right but for kids. The older more about recite Quran, together pray at mosque or with family. 30 minutes before iftar also most right time for pray together..
