The Old Figurehead Carver

The clipper ship Marco Polo was launched in St. John, New Brunswick, in 1851. She was rebuilt in 1854 to carry passengers from Liverpool to Australia on the Black Ball Line and became the first vessel to make the round trip in under six months. She was later used as a cargo ship before eventually running aground in 1883.
