Just another example of why you harness and secure your dog to the seat when driving with them, I see people driving 65 with their dogs in the the back of a pickup on like 5 foot leashes. Like if they jump out, or you swerve hard enough, they’ll literally fall out and get dragged by a behemoth barreling down the roadway until you notice, which is already too late.

Saw a dog fall off a truck on the interstate once, car in front of us drove over him broadside and destroyed his whole back end, I still can see him dragging around his backend as the other dog from the truck ran around him panicking as cars flew by. Seen a lot of gnarly stuff in my life, but that affected me more than any of it. If you gonna bring them with you, secure them well

My dog did this once. She was always a good girl and sat in the front seat next to me without any troubles. I took her to the vet one day because she was sick and she jumped on my lap and out of the window before I could process it. She was and is fine, but from that day forward I have ensured there is no way in hell it will ever happen again.

There was a recent incident in my city where a man was walking on the sidewalk when a Pitbull jumped out of a car and attacked him. Unfortunately, as he tried to run away, the guy ended up on the road where he was hit by another car and tragically passed away.

This happened to my friends highly trained golden, he was just hanging out and made too sharp a turn and he fell out, but was ok. I talk to a lot of people as a dog trainer who say this happens to them. I always tell them no matter how trained your dog is, keep the window rolled up at least halfway, or harness them in.

It kind of looks like it jumped out with its hind legs in the truck but I don’t think we can really see anything as the windows are tinted. It would really suck if he was thrown out.
