For decades this had been the location of the popular Martine's Restaurant which has since moved east on Ferry Street on the Delaware River. The latest eating establishment, The Salt House, most appropriately named, is a favorite destination for food and drink, attracting many locals and visitors. But this exquisite mid-eighteenth century building originally hosted the town's important Salt Store and a ticket office for the ferry boats crossing the river.
