That’s actually really good visibility. So many things to see. CAT3 capable aircraft can land where none of that is visible but you really have to trust the computers.

The runway lights with low visibility is so amazing👌🏼

“The fog’s getting thicker!”
And Leon’s getting larger!”

In 2018 my flight to Amsterdam was postponed 3 hours due to enormous fog there. Our plane couldn't even take off.
Of course I lost my connection flight 😂

I have landed the AB 330 many times in 300 RVR conditions. The auto pilot is not disconnected until the A/S is 60kts or below.. The A/C's autopilot keeps the aircraft on the runway's centerline.

Great video - I've done that approach to Malpensa many times and it is often very foggy at our arrival times in the early morning

This is a Category II approach, as the crew can see the runway environment before reaching the decision height. There is more to a low visibility approach than the airplane and crew--only certain runways at certain airports have certification for Category III landings: III A, see to flare; III B, see to taxi; III C, see nothing. A landing in III C conditions requires some method of getting the airplane safely off of the runway, as the crew may not be able to see anything outside of the cockpit after rolling to a stop.

i went from Frankfurt to Brussels at sunrise and it was foggy and honestly it was beautiful, but the fog wasn't that thick and it was more clear on the runway.
Flying on planes are just amazing

Your videos, even with the lack of crashes. Just reinforce my fears. I do enjoy them though.

I’ve landed at that airport in weather just like that with my DA42. Well, we had nominal minimums for CAT I, 250 ft ceiling and 550m RVR. But it looked just like that on final.

Airports should install a chemical sprayer possibly gas abosorbant type along the length of the runways, to defog the fog OR they can also use higher powered, higher diameter industrial fans in some side to push away the fog, before a plane comes in to in the runway length as well.

Practically VFR! Landed in conditions like that almost daily in KGPI in the 1900, and regularly here in Colorado when returning at 0700 from one of those late night medevac flights. If a 1960's 1900, and a 1980's C90 can do it, an Airbus sure as heck better be able to!

This is when you put all faith into the air traffic control doing their job correctly.

I remember flying to Heathrow in 2022 & it was so foggy they needed to keep traffic in hold pattern to allow proper separation for extreme fog there as when we were on final, I couldn’t see the ground & the lights of the runway until less than 50 feet. It all auto land to the ground for the 787 I was in.
