In some cases, a baby may take longer to be fully ready for birth, leading to a pregnancy that goes beyond the expected due date. Most post-term pregnancies are perfectly healthy, though they do require careful monitoring by healthcare providers to ensure both the mother and baby remain safe. Prolonged pregnancies can increase certain risks, such as decreased amniotic fluid or complications during delivery, which is why doctors may recommend inducing labor if the pregnancy extends significantly past the due date.

I was just turning 42 week when they decided to induce me. My baby still refused to come out but she was deceased at birth. Thankfully the medical staff were amazing and managed to resuscitate her

When I found out I was pregnant at a hospital, the doctors refused to show me the MRI photos. They went out their way to find an ultrasound machine. I understand why they did that now 😂

Facts!! I chose to get medically induced for my due date as my doctor was upfront with ALL this information! She was amazing! Since I was younger and have a smaller frame, she gave me as many as my options as she could for my delivery, knowing there were possibilities I could struggle with. Could not be happier with getting medically induced! No water breaking on my living room carpet, no soaking my car's seats, no horror or embarrassment story. It was so simple and straight forward being able to just go in and say, "I'm doing this today, " without worrying about when is the right time. And let me tell you, he was so ready to be alive and out of there!! He was rolling over early and RUNNING by 9 months old.

In Chinese culture, we use lunar months (i.e. 28 days in a month or 4 weeks per month, therefore 40 weeks is 10 months). So we always think of pregnancy as being 10 months long. We actually have a very common idiom that says your mother spends 10 long months bringing you into this world, so you need to respect your mom.

My first was 13 days after her due date. My 3rd and 4th were 17 days past my due date. A due date is a guesstimate. Women with long cycles will tend to have long pregnancies. No problems with me or any of my kids.

I've always known it's 10 months and am shocked at how many young ladies on paternity court don't plus they don't even know anything about the woman's reproductive system and health. They think they got pregnant the minute they had intimacy. We were taught in home ec in the 70s & 80s all about our reproductive system. How the egg gets fertilized in the fallopian tube higher up. How it takes quite awhile for the sperm to reach it. Not the same night. So being with someone else within 48 hours means they could be the father if you're basing it on your last period. I had relations once in 2 weeks as we were trying to conceive. I kept a calendar. With that and the day of my last cycle I found my due date. My doctor weeks later used the wheel they had. She got the same due date. My child was born on that due date and was 7lbs 10 ounces 21 inches long and skinny. Natural birth and quick 5 hours labour and he flew out lol

I was two weeks overdue when my mom decided to evict me from the womb. I did not want to be born 😂

As someone born 11 days later than I should have, I've been told by my mom that the doctors have given her one more day to naturally have me or they would medically induce the labor. The night before the doctors were going to do that, i was finally born naturally. I guess I must have heard them and got anxious xD.
