RS5000 X Shock Absorber | Rancho Suspension

I had Ranchos on my 96 Ram in college, it was the best riding vehicle I’ve ever had. I put Biltsiens on my current truck and I have regrets, I can’t tell a difference between the worn out OEM shocks and the blue and yellows so I’m going back to Ranchos like I should’ve to begin with.

I have a overland trailer with an A-arm coil suspension setup. It comes with shocks from the factory that were unbranded but made in china. Overall the trailer rode pretty decent, likely because the a arm coil setups do right better but I knew it could be improved. Did some research on goranchos website and found the perfect fit replacement. Let me tell you the 5000x made this trailer ride and tow like a dream. Took it on the same fire road from a week prior on the old shocks and the trailer was more planted and bounced far less. I noticed on the bigger hits it was more controlled immediately after. I give thanks to rancho on tuning and designing a quality shock at a very reasonable price point.

Would these shocks be suitable for a 1 ton truck that tows a 5th wheel camper with a pin weight around 2, 000 lbs?

we have the 5000s on our s10 blazer and they work fine.

I’ve used Rancho on every pu truck I’ve owned. Just put a pair on my daily. Sloppy welds, sharp edges, boots wasn’t cleaned from the forms.
I’m having a hard time thinking about how far down I should pull the boots. Normally I would pull them halfway down, but as I was charging these new ones, the boots were not allowing air flow, being sucked in real bad. So I just took them to the beveled edge and zipped it there. Now there’s a gap, and I’m concerned with it holding water/salt/dirt, possibly causing short lifespan. The ride is great. Just concerned with boot procedure. Thx

Boot slips off of top of shock. Are new mounting BOLTS supposed to be included in package for lower part od shock? You need a taller welded nut at top of shock to ease installation. What a pita to install on 03 f150.

I have a 2015 Silverado with the all-star package and already has rancho shocks. Says it raises the truck 2 inches on trucks? is this the stock replacement?

Does anybody know the dimensions when the shock is extended and twisted? (Front and back)
