I got the Maxroad 5 on your recommendation and use them for my longer runs, which they are fantastic, light responsive and cushioned. The grip is amazing and I find myself reaching for them in the ice or for rain slicked road days . Best outsole IMHO. Get a pair if you can, the upper is a bit baggy but does lockdown well.

I recently bought the MaxRoad 5 (for USD $59–a steal) and have far fewer miles thus far—but what a fantastic shoe. I took them for a 13-miler last weekend and what a phenomenal, light-weight long run shoe. If I get 300+ miles out of them I’ll be happy.

Light shoes that feels heavy on foot is my opinion. In comparison with the Nike Invincible run the Max road feels like a dead brick. But the upper is very comfortable.

Thanks for the review. Would you have these over the velocity nitro 2?

I found the outsole wore down quite quickly on mine Fordy and that was mainly road running. But I think it’s a good shoe.

I run at a pace of 5.40- 7.40 min/km..pls assist me which is the best? Go run ride 9 or max road 5? My priority will be comfort up to marathon distance and also stable/ steady ride .Also, able to pick up the pace

I had the Max Road 4 and the blisters I got from that shoe were terrible. It was so bad that I had to stop my long run, midway. I thought it was just a one time thing, but it would keep happening. I would get the Max Road 5, but I don't want to chance it happening again. I really liked the shoe at first, but the blisters it caused weren't worth it anymore.

Hi Fordy. Left comments with you the last time you reviewed the max rd 5 about how I would love to get my hands on a pair but they were unavailable in the uk and sadly nothing has changed since. Are sketchers not interested in the uk running market do you think ? Thanks again Ian

I've had several different pairs of Skechers running shoes and I've never been disappointed. Right now I'm using the Razor 3's and have around 70 miles on them. I'm probably buying the Razor Excess for a marathon in June.
