Bebop was a once in a generation work. It was a show with no motivation to do more than survive the pangs of hunger, love, and loneliness.
It was the right show at the right time that resonated with men and women world wide looking for a mirror to the hardships of their own life.
It will be strange to see Watanabe catch lightning in a bottle twice, especially with a shooter. Bebop was first and foremost a slice of life of people trying to live in a complicated world with drama and action sprinkled in. Though he's made some good anime post Bebop, none have reached the same renown as Bebop. But, we are at the cusp of a generational change, so maybe there is a chance to capture the minds of people looking to have their story told. Im interested to see what that story is but it may be hard because I cut the cable years ago.

As someone who's watching Cowboy Bebop (and working on a ttrpg campaign in the vein of Cowboy Bebop) along with a love for the John Wick movies due to the methods of a stuntman and martial artist turned director like Chad I'm already in it! This sounds like a great mesh up of good writing with a guy who know 2nd Unit work and doing it safely for animation...Sounds like a dream team to me.

seriously though I'm excited for this but I need to keep my monkey brain's emotions in check because it living up to Cowboy Bebop for me is very very unlikely, of course I hope it's amazing tho. I'm not going to watch any trailers or any promotional materials. Shinichirō Watanabe, Adult Swim, Mappa, Whatshisface from John Wick, I don't need any more convincing to check it out.

Action films are great, but there are few actors that can carry long scenes with dialogue and by themselves. Example Lawrence of Arabia.

The future is looking rosy for us I think. Us Sci fi fans I mean. Because the normal people have seen a glint of what we have all always loved. I think we are on the verge of a renaissance.
