"got a wierd thing here..." That was funny. Hard to beat a nice piece of Oak. Great job on turning it into something beautiful. Looks like a small branch was cut and the main trunk grew back over the cut area to me. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much Simon for another great video. You are a very gifted turner. I've made some natural edge bowls trying to keep the bark on. I lost parts of the bark on several occasions and tried to glue them back on. None of them worked out.

Cool bowl, Simon. For me, the greatest pleasure in woodturning is discovering the secrets hidden inside a piece of wood. In this case, it's the cut-off branches that the tree grew around and the feather grain pattern around them. Perfect wood is so boring :-) Clyde

I told my partner to get the tools sharpened, change the blade on the chain saw, I have 3 very large box elder root burls sitting in my back yard and I want to do something with them. A beautiful bowl, I am encouranged to try live edge again.
