How to Seal Your Painted Rocks | Step-by-Step Tutorial

Today I did something a little bit different. I think sealing rocks is something that is important to learn as a rock painter if you are trying to get started, or even if you have been painting for quite some time. In this video, I explain which sealer I use and why, and show you examples of rocks before and after they are sealed. There’s also a difference in this week’s video, but you will have to watch to find out that that is. Enjoy!

Supplies List:
DuraClear Satin Varnish sealer (found at most craft stores)
Mod Podge glue and finish (found at most craft stores)

After you use your brush simply clean it with soap and water and it will get all the left over varnish off your brush. Secondly you should, instead of dipping your brush in the bottle pour a little out at a time in a small measuring cup or disposable cup. Much easier and less messy. And I would recommend using gloves. Great video 👍🏽

Can uh pls answer my question if I want to glue rocks on canvas or on some wooden frame which glue we can use? Cuz I have used hot glue gun for that previously but it didn’t work

How do you get the acrylic paint to stick to rocks and not come off it after a few days?

Hello, I am finding that the varnish I use on my painted rocks peels off in the weather. Should I just not vanish them and just use a sealer? The varnish I use is water based Polyurethane. Thank you

I’m playing catch-up on your tutorials and came across this one and I have a question. I’ve tried using the dura clear and it caused my paint 🎨 to spread everywhere 😢 Is it because I didn’t use the midge lodge? Thank you for sharing 😊

I don’t know if you will see this but I’d love to know how you keep the sealer from dripping on the other side. I seem to get these drips that look like little bubbles on the bottom of the side I shellack.

It looks like you have used acrylic pens to get the fine lines. Does this varnish make the pen paint smudge? I find it does with mine and it is so frustrating and upsetting. Any help at all Please?
