I am so happy and privilege that I have a similar story <3 We adopted Pola when she was 4 months old. Some great lady was running an unofficial rescue shelter. And local people just know to alert her. Pola was found badly injured and starving in the middle of the field. She was super scarred of everything. I laid myself on the ground without moving so she knew I am not a threat. It took 6 months for my husband to walk past her without her peeing herself (big fear of male's legs). But she has overcome it. She is the joy of my heart! My best companion and the most well-behaved bed-mate (including my husband) I have ever had! Adopted pets are a lot of work. But even more love. She is causing trouble and frequent vet visits (how was I supposed to know she will jump on the kitchen table and eat the whole bowl of Greek salad?!!!) but I would not have her any other way!
