In this video I'll be showing how to make a wooden manual transmission gearbox. I will be using this gearbox in the new wooden car model I'm working on. If you want to build this gearbox yourself, you can find the plans for it on my patreon page.

If you're interested in woodworking and wooden mechanisms feel free to stick with this channel! I plan on building a lot of cool mechanical contraptions of varying complexity and releasing plans and tutorials for them too!

This is unreal. This channel is underrated. As a carpenter I'm blown away, phenomenal work buddy. The only thing I'd recommend is maybe some resin or fiberglass resin for reinforcement. Other than that it's so cool. You're freakin brilliant

@11:13 you may done this work by using a bigger drill bit than the hole. With this way there would be a nice edges and no more burrs instead of using that little drill bit. Any way it is good work. Thanks for sharing.

9:30 always start with smaller nits and work your way up so you don't ruin them

Some parts you can "cook" in hot water, the plywood Will turn flexible and you can assembly easily without broke the parts

so i think i’ve got an idea as to why the bit was bending and maybe a possible solution
because the shaft you were drilling into was circular the bit had very little surface area to catch onto so it moved to the side to get more. a possible solution would be to take some sandpaper or a file and make the part of the shaft you’re drilling into a little flatter to make more surface area for the bit, hope this helps

How tf do you make this look so damn easy

You could wet the wood and compress it so u can get the gear on!

Can you try put a load to the output? I don't know if you have before but that'd be really sick.

It would be nice to be able to 3d print it in wood filament

Nice work!! You need a CNC machine to help with your production :)
