I recently bought the Honeywell AirGenius 5 at Target and I love it! I have really bad allergies, and I was constantly blowing my nose and had watery eyes and that’s what prompted me to go get it. I was literally suffering. I bought it today a few hours ago and my eyes stopped watering and my nose stopped running. What a relief! I’m very happy with it! Totally worth my health and comfort.

Guys, this is in essence an electrostatic filter. It's different from classic powered electrostatic filters in having a dielectric coating over the ionizing wires and the oppositely charged collecting surfaces. That's the ifD tech. It still cleans air by charging particles in the air so they'll then stick to the oppositely charged collecting surfaces downstream. Whatever assumptions you make about standard physical filters wouldn't apply to it. For one, cleaning it will restore its efficiency far better than your written report assumes, with little degradation due to the number of times its been cleaned, so long as you don't damage its electrostatic mechanism. For another, its highest cleaning efficiency, in terms of the smallest size of particles it'll collect, wouldn't be at its max fan speed, but one of the lower ones. ... Granted, Honeywell probably could've designed a better filter with this tech if they wanted. Still, it's a lot better than their first go with this tech, the QuietClean series.

Do you know of a website that I can order another permanent filter? The one that I have i have rinsed multiple times and it is now making an odor when I put it back in the purifier and turn on. So basically I need to replace the permanent air filter but I cannot find them to purchase.

Is there anyway to use a hepa filter instead of the ifD that is included?

the front grill is so hard to clean up. i wish you can remove the front panel to clean it up better.

I heard the Honeywell AirGenius 6 has a hepa filter. Is that true?

Thank you, I agree on all of your points. It is hard to make a choice actually even knowing it is not nearly as good as the true HEPA filter one. I really like about the ease of the permanent filter. The last point, it is possible that it will produce ozone gas.

Good wash filter. Good soak in TSP. It always is dirty. Weekly clean. Grease oils wipe out effects of filter

The air genius 5 is becoming harder to fine. I’ll stick with my Honeywell True HEPA Tower Allergen Remover, HPA160 for now.

This thing sucks.. the charcoal filter does more than the electronic cartridge.
