I just finished it and I really enjoyed it! I liked the multiple perspectives and the way the story was told backwards. I also thought that the information about women’s reproductive rights was woven in nicely with the plot. I really liked the diversity among the characters, both racially and ideologically.

I just finished this book and I LOVED it! I thought the plot twists kept it a page turner. I thought it was well researched and the telling from both sides of the fence (pun intended) was done respectfully. It’s a difficult topic to write about as it’s extremely controversial. I haven’t read much from Jodi Picoult but if half of her books are as well written as this, consider me a fan!

Reading it now and finding the same issues you had.
I also feel when the narration switches between characters, she doesn’t clearly define this until well into each paragraph leaving me to have to go back and reread to grasp the voice or the context of narration.

I just finished reading it and I must say it's such a huge disappointment compared to all the other books of hers I read so far. The back and forth is extremely annoying and I couldn't connect to either of the characters at all on this one . Usually am empathetic and always put my self in multiple of her character but absolutely no connection with spark of light.

It's a shame this book was a bit of a disappointment for you :(. I plan to read it some time, I quite like a lot of Jodi Picoult's books. Yours is the first review I've seen of her new book :).
