OK before we stampede down to the Apple Store and demand $400 off a computer it’s important that you understand that most of the education discounts for an entry-level computer range between 50 and $150, the more you spend the greater the discount for education purchases. For example, if you spend almost $4000 on a 16 inch high-end MacBook Pro, you save almost $300 most college students will never need this type of machine unless they are doing high-end graphic design, video production or commercial photography with a extremely expensive camera. The same peoplewill also not buy AppleCare BRAKE their machine and whine and complain about it. Educate yourself. Yes there is a discount, but not $400 off $1000 machine to be clear. AND definitely buy Apple end of rant.

As a former Apple Store employee, this is silly. You just go in, tell them you’re a student, and they give you the discount. They don’t give you a hard time. 🙄 Apple salespeople don’t make commission.

This doesn't work. I am a student and I tried it without showing my ID and they said I MUST show my ID and refused to give me the student pricing. You can possibly do it online but not in-store or picking up in-store. So no, it doesn't work like that.
