Another nice looking easy tie. I’m working my way through all of your past uploads and selecting things I’d like to attempt. The progress on your YouTube channel is great congratulations. And thank you for being an inspiration to just sit down and tie a fly ! Thanks and take care

When I bought my supply of thread, I bought all 8/0 and was constantly breaking it. It took quite a while for me to figure out how much pressure I could apply, still break it once in a while, your videos have shown me that the choice wasnt a bad one after all, thanks

Good morning Matt. Congrats on eclipsing the 5k subscribers. I enjoy your videos and obviously so do many others. This is one of the “ I’m tying this one “ patterns. I still break my thread far more frequently than I would like. It seems to happen more toward the hook than the eye so I think I’m nicking the thread on the hook point so I’m taking it slower when working around the hook. We’ll see if that helps. Take care Matt.

Nice tie Matt. I'd add AP to that Quick Tie. Looks like an emerging mayfly, pupating caddis lavra, etc. Congrats on the 5.2 K!

This, or something very similar, might have been the first tie I ever tried to tie out of a manual or book. I think it was from some old fly tying fishing book I found in the back corner of the library when I was a teenager. I had tied stuff before that but it was all old school stuff I had learned from other people like my grandfather. I don't think I had some of the material, so I have to use some old twine or rope or something I found in my father's shed for the wing. The funny part was I took a pair of scissors and cut off a pinch of wool off one of our sheep for the dubbing. I think I dyed it in some Ectoplasm Koolaid or something. I don't think my father ever figured out why the sheep kept getting random bald spots.
