Xiaomi 10000mAh Quick Charge Powerbank Review and Teardown

In this video we take a look at an inside a new powerbank from Xiaomi. Xiaomi is at the top of the heap of the Chinese electronics manufacturers. Their cell phones rival Samsung in quality. So when they asked me to review this powerbank I was excited. I was was sure it would separate itself from all of the rock bottom powerbanks we have seen in the past.

Hi Paul...so sorry about the loss. All I can say is at least he is at peace. I'm struggling with mother's dimensia, it's difficult to watch your parent slip away. Hope all is well otherwise.

On the other hand, below 4.9 is out of usb spec? AAAUUUUGHH! Where did you get that? There is no datasheet anywhere nor on the official spec that says that. Android phones mostly do the thing where they ramp the current up until the voltage drops to a threshold, but it's manufacturer specific...and I never found this number either...

huh i just bought a similar power bank, but its model PLM09ZM, same capacity, 2 usbA, micro usb input. and chinese packaging.

i only have a holographic sticker on mine ... i wonder if that means its fake XD

the powerbank has a low current mode. you click the button twice and it will do a different pattern with the leds. in that mode the output is on for 2 hours. you can use that if you want to charge a small device that doesnt pull enough power to keep it going. sadly no "eternal" mode on mine (and on yours?) to keep little micros running off of it
